The Aquaria KLCC - kids really love everything inside!

The Aquaria KLCC is a part of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre shopping mall, next to the Petronas Twin Towers. It can be easily combined with your visit to the KLCC Twin Towers.  It is an underwater park located beneath KLCC.  It is not that big, one took about 60 - 90 minutes to complete the walk through with plenty of time to explore the place. Worth visiting with your family and children before a round of shopping at KLCC.

The place is fantastic and kids really love everything inside. There are some interactive activities where kids can play with friendly water creatures. There is a big vertical aquarium where you can see huge group of fish swimming together forming like a tornado. There are rock displays inside for photo shoot. Travelator in the oceanarium is also a nice idea for kids and seniors.

Featuring 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2) in two levels with a 90-metre (300 ft) underwater tunnel, Aquaria KLCC houses over 250 different species and over 20,000 land and aquatic animals from Malaysia and around the world. Interactive information kiosks on fish and turtle conservation. It includes a themed retail area of about 5,000 square feet (460 m2). Aquaria KLCC is based on the journey of water from the land to the sea. The journey starts in the misty highlands, down through rivers, through the rainforest and mangroves to the coral reefs into the deep blue sea.

The center piece is a huge tank, the Living Ocean, which presents many types of small and large species.  A tunnel tank with a moving travelator where you can marvel at Sand Tiger sharks, stingrays, marine turtles and others. You can see those creatures "flying" above you. Although there's a travelator, walking at the side walkway is better.

Visitors are treated to various feeding events at specific times for different species. There is a touch pool that kids will love it. Kids would be thrilled that they could hold a star fish, a baby shark, seas cucumber, as well as horseshoe crab in their palms at touch pool and it was definitely a great experience for them.
