Budget Accommodation at Poppies Lanes Bali

Kuta -  Bali offers many ranges of accommodations mostly in the budget and mid-range markets. Private villas and five stars hotels are few as Kuta just lacks the space for expansive properties. There are a lot of budget accommodations on Poppies lanes, you can often find nicer places on the small lanes between Poppies I and II too.

poppies cottage gate

Commonly, this accommodation offers facility of 2 beds, bathroom inside, standard fan or AC. Some hotels provide light breakfast in the morning. You can stay daily, weekly, or monthly. For weekly and monthly stay try asking the staff for a discount. Among budget travelers this place is like a haven, it has no international standard services among various small hotels at the area, but it offers the homy balinese atmosphere.

Pandawa 'The Secret' Beach - Bali

Pandawa beach is often referred to as the Secret Beach located in Kutuh Village, South Kuta, Badung Regency. Concealed behind high cliffs and overgrown shrubbery, Pandawa beach had long remained secluded from the crowds of tourists, due to the less-than-easy path that had to be taken to access it.

the stunning panorama at Pandawa Beach
Pandawa Beach has a stunning panorama with serene and quiet atmosphere. It is only around 3 km from the famous Nusa Dua area. The beach can be accessed by driving down through an enormous human-made quarry-like ravine in central Bukit. With a mesmerizing natural landscape, ancient religious structures and multiple cultural activities, the list of things to do and places to go on the world-famous island of Bali is almost endless.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is a 240 hectares private cultural park on the Bukit Peninsula at the southern end of the island of Bali in Indonesia, 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. It is also one of tourist destinations when visiting Pura Luhur Uluwatu or Nusa Dua (a must visit sites in Bali) since the park as is not very far from that area.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana
Currently, the park is not yet completed since the dimensions were so huge, one can easily understand why such a delay from the original schedule. I think it would be even more magical once the redevelopment finished.  Garuda Wisnu Kencana was an ambitious project started to create the world's largest statue. Designed by Nyoman Nuarta, the statue of Lord Vishnu (Wisnu as they say in Bali) sitting astride on the mythical bird Garuda was to be about 150 meters tall with Garuda's wingspan being 64 meters.

Sunset at Tanah Lot temple

Tanah Lot temple is one of the scenic spots in Bali that should not be missed. Your visit to Bali will not be completed without a visit to Tanah Lot temple. The best time to visit the place is at sunset when the sun colors the sea and sky beautifully with reds, yellows and oranges. Sunrise can do too but it won't be as spectacular as a sunset.  It is also one of the most popular spots to get photographs of beautiful silhouette of the temples during the sunset over the ocean.

pic credit to www.balitoursonline.com - sunset at Tanah Lot
This place has to be visited in the afternoon if you want to enjoy the sunset and that means you can visit other attractions on the northern part mountain in the morning before heading to Tanah Lot in the afternoon.  For instance, you can start your adventure in the early morning to Pura Taman Ayun, Candi Kuningan, Bedugul Temple, and on the way back stopped at Alas Kedaton ‘Monkey Forest’ and then you should be arriving at Tanah Lot in the afternoon for the sunset which usually takes place after 6.00 pm.

    The Calypso "ladyboys" show Bangkok

The Calypso Bangkok is well worth a visit. It is one of the most popular and unique shows in Bangkok as it stars unbelievably beautiful “ladyboys” - transsexuals and transvestites. These shows are not just about boys who want to be girls throwing on a show. These are seasoned, highly talented performers. This is about great choreography, amazing costuming. Some of which are breath catching! Some of these ‘ladies’ have features that would have made any woman jealous but this is just an attractive illusion; they were all born men. The show treats various "eras" o f performance, reflected by the music and the costuming

The evening gowns of fantastic grandezza - Calypso
The show caters for tourists of all nationalities with songs in Korean, Japanese (a very humorous geisha who will dedicate her performance to an embarrassed and bemused member of the audience), Chinese (a poignant ballad), English (Tina Turner, Michael Jackson), and, of course, Thai. The cabaret was like a Broadway show but it was lip-synced and it went for 1 1/4 hours.
